A man has been arrested in connection with a hit and run case occurring over the weekend in Floyd County.
Ronnie Thomas Tutton, Jr., age 31 was taken into custody on Sunday and charged with DUI, Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Driving with a Suspended License.
A motorcyclist was sitting at the intersection of Rockmart Road and Shiflett Road when the bike was hit by a truck, literally snapping the bike in half; the impact send the motorcyclist down a thirty foot embankment, causing serious injuries.
The victim was transported to Erlanger Medical Center for treatment.
Tutton, a native of Dallas, Georgia, fled the scene following the crash. He attempted to hide the Ford Ranger behind a nearby church but was soon discovered and placed under arrest.
