Motorists Should Exercise Caution Due to Flooding in a Number of Areas; Trees Reported Down / UPDATED LIST OF ROADS AFFECTED

Tree down across County Road 147

Motorists are urged to exercise extreme caution today – due to the extremely heavy rainfall many areas are experiencing flooding and/or running water across the roadways.

There have also been reports of trees down across roads in a number of locations including County Road 147, Highway 278 near Spring Garden Store, two locations along County Road 96 in Broomtown – near County Road 99 and near County Road 921 and other areas.

The Cedar Bluff Police Department has CLOSED Boundary Avenue between Williamson and Broad Streets, along with Lawrence Street as they’re all under water.  Jackson Street behind the Vocational School is also reportedly under water.

Others areas affected at this time include:  County Road 535, Hardwood Drive, Sewell Ferry Road, County Road 22 at the Bypass, County Road 65 and one-quarter mile off County Road 69 on County Road 76.

Those traveling backroads should be especially cautious as such less-traveled areas may be less likely to have problems already reported; you may be the first to come upon a tree that has fallen across the roadway.  Slow down and exercise caution.
