Mr. Bernard Glynn Horton

Funeral services for Mr. Bernard Glynn Horton, age 71, will be held Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chan Stanley Memorial Chapel of Stanley Funeral Home in Dublin, Georgia with Rev. Myron Wise officiating. Interment will follow in the Trail Branch Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Horton was born June 12, 1947 in Dublin, Georgia. He graduated from Dudley High School, attended Auto Diesel Technical School in Nashville, Tennessee, and worked as an insurance salesman for Delta Life. He was a Sergeant in the United States Army serving as a Missile Crewman in Vietnam. He received the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and the Army Commendation Medal. He was an avid coin collector and served as president of the Rainbow Coin Club in Rainbow City, Alabama. Mr. Horton was preceded in death by his parents, William Bernard Horton and Mildred Hart Horton. Mr. Horton passed away at the Floyd Medical Center in Rome, Georgia on November 2, 2018.

Mr. Horton is survived by sons Corey Wade (Amanda) Horton of Hopes Bluff, Alabama, and Bernie Ira (Pam) Horton of Center, Alabama, by sisters Gail (Bonny) Strom of Dublin, and Millie Murphy of Milledgeville, by six grandchildren Haley Wright, Ethan Whitcomb, Cooper Horton, Jack Horton, Hannah Horton, and Marley Horton, and by two great grandchildren Cholea Wright and Liam Wright.

Pallbearers will be Danny Hall, Jimmy Hall, Jonathan Murphy, Bonny Strom, and Edwin Bland. The family will receive friends from noon till 1:45 P.M. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
