Mr. Billy Sandal Godfrey age 95 of Centre passed away on Saturday May 31 at Redmond Medical Center.

Funeral Services for Mr. Godfrey will be at 1:00pm Monday June 2nd at the Ebenezer United Methodist Church with Dr. George Cobb officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at the Howell Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00am until the hour of service.

In Lieu of flowers memorials ma be made to the Ebenezer United Methodist Church.

Pallbearers are Scott Godfrey, Jimmy St. Clair, Jamie Davis, Matthew McHugh, Wayne Brewer, Richard Lindsey and Tommy Joe Willis.

Mr. Godfrey is survived by his Sister Katie Jo Tucker of Chattanooga and several Nieces and Nephews – He is preceded in death by his wife Corabelle Godfrey.

Mr. Godfrey was a native of Cherokee County and the Son of the late George and Pearl Popham Godfrey.

Billy was a retired educator and a former member of the Cherokee County Board of Education. He served his country during World War II as a United States Marine and was a member of the Marine Corps League. Mr. Godfrey was a member of the Ebenezer United Methodist Church.
