Mr. Charles Crawford “Charlie” Teague

Mr. Charles Crawford “Charlie” Teague, age 68, of Lyerly, GA, died Thursday, May 15, 2014, at Floyd Medical Center.

Mr. Teague was born June 14, 1945, in Gaylesville, AL, son of the late Henry Boughton Teague and Velma Chloe Teague. He was retired from the Cherokee County School System where he worked as a teacher. He was a member of the Mount Zion Independent Church where he served as pianist and a Bible teacher for over 45 years. He also served as a pianist for the Higher Praise Trio and many other groups. Mr. Teague played music at the Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center as well as the Suites at Oakview. He was a SP5 in the U. S. Army Med Field SRVC and served on the USAH Okinawa during the Vietnam Conflict.

Mr. Teague is survived by his wife, Martha Jo Teague; a son, Chuck Teague; daughters and son-in-law, Cheri and Alex Proels, Carla Smith; brother and sister-in-law, Boughton and Emma Teague; sisters and brother-in-law, Martha Owens, Betty and Billy Young; grandchildren, Breana Bivens, Eva Proels, Maximilian Proels, Quentin Proels, and Sammi Rowell.

Funeral services for Mr. Teague will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, May 18, 2014, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. J. L. Sharpe and Rev. Jim Vanpelt officiating. Burial will follow in the Summerville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be nephews.

Mr. Teague will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Saturday.
