Fred J. Collett, age 78 of Centre passed away, Sunday, July 27th at Riverview Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be 3 P.M. Tuesday, July 29th at Perry Funeral Home Chapel, with Gene Conkle officiating; burial will be at 2 P.M. (EDT) Wednesday at Fairview Memorial Garden in Stockbridge, GA. The family will receive friends from 1 until 3 P.M. Tuesday.
Pallbearers include Shane Hall, William Culpepper, Blake Holloway, Brian Holloway, Brent Holloway & Taylor Collett.
Survivors include a son, Dwayne Eddie Collett of Forrest Park, Ga.; daughters, Vickey (Tony) Chesser of Gadsden, Donna (Edward) Haynes of Carterville, Ga., Sharon Collett of Stockbridge, Ga.; daughter-in-law, Shanna Collett; Grandchildren, Nicole Hutson, Sondra Culpepper, Blake, Brian & Brent Holloway, Shane Hall, William Culpepper & Taylor Collett; Step-Grandchildren, Heather Chesser McGhee, Christopher Chesser & Chris Haynes; Great-Grandchildren, Michael & Matthew Hutson, Mason Sparks, Mavryk Holloway, Alivia Mills & Gracelyn Culpepper; several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Collett was a native of Cherokee County, the son of the late Major & Parlee Teams Collett, was a Navy veteran and was retired from Anheuser-Busch. He was preceded in death by two wives, Betty Ruth Collett and Brenda Collett and a sister, Virginia Clonts.
