Mr. George Edwards, age 80 of Leesburg, passed away Tuesday January 5th at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 3PM Friday at Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Forgey officiating. Entombment will follow in the Cherokee Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Family will receive friends Friday from 1PM until 3PM at the funeral home.

He is survived by his sons; George Edwards Jr. of Gadsden, Donald Ray (Elaine) Edwards of Leesburg; brother William “Skippy” (Mary) Edwards of Gadsden; grandchildren, Chad William (Leslie) Edwards, Megan Edwards; great grandchildren Alyssa Edwards, Brittany Edwards. Several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Edwards is preceded in death by his wife Mildred Edwards.
Mr. Edwards was a native of Etowah County, the son of the late William and Bonnie Gazzaway Edwards, and was of the Baptist faith.
The family will accept flowers or donations may be made to Cherokee County Humane Society.
