Mr. William L. “Bill” Brooks, age 61, of Cedar Bluff, passed away on Tuesday March 15th at Floyd Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 1 P.M. Saturday March 19th at Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Evans and Rev. Aaron Stoner officiating. Burial will follow at Weiss Lake Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers include Clyde Sanders, James White, Blake Butts, Pete Eckroat, Charles Chambers, and Benny Sprayberry.
He is survived by his wife Debra Joan Butts Brooks; brother James (Sue) Taylor of Jacksonville, FL; sisters Beth Brooks Gresham of Rome, GA., Brenda Sweeton Smith of Rome, GA.; grandchildren Bobby Brooks and Tyler Brooks; brothers-in-law James (Sandra) Butts, Chris (Felina) Butts, Kenneth Butts; special child Lexus Butts; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his son William Lawrence Brooks Jr., brother Edward Larry Brooks, grandparents Rueben and Annie Maude Brooks, and Mr. and Mrs. Stokes; mother-in-law Joan Moore.
Mr. Brooks was a native of Rome, GA, the son of the late William and Mary Stokes Brooks and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Brooks was a service manager at Riverside Toyota in Rome, Ga.
