Mr. William Thomas Compton, age 72, of Centre, passed away Sunday March 13th at Floyd Medical Center.
Funeral services will be 3 P.M. Tuesday March 15th at Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George Cobb officiating. Burial will follow at Cherokee Memory Gardens. Family will receive friends Tuesday from 1 P.M. until the hour of funeral service at 3 P.M.
Pallbearers include Neil Compton, Heath Compton, Lane Stinson, Tommie Trotter, Nick McMichen, Tim Hayes,Jr. Hopwood.
Honorary pallbearers include Jerry Pruett, David Pruett, Johnny Pruett, Bobby Compton, Steve Garner, Jamie Davis, Ferrell Langston, Steve Walker, Jackie Givens, Tony Phillips, Bobby Doeg, and Tommie Jordon.
He is survived by his daughter Cynthia Molly Ann Compton of Centre; sister-in-law Linda Compton of Centre; nephews Neil (Kim) Compton and Heath Compton of Centre.
Mr. Compton is preceded in death by his brother Derrick Compton.
Mr. Compton was a native of Cherokee County, the son of the late William Thomas (B.T.) and Louise Young Compton and was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ebenezer United Methodist Church.
