Mrs. Alvree Bowman, age 94, of Leesburg, passed away Monday November 13th at Cherokee County Health and Rehab.
Graveside service will be 3:30pm Wednesday November 15th at Sand Rock Cemetery, with Rev. Sam Eldridge and Rev. Damon Olson officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 PM until 3 PM at Perry Funeral Home.
Pallbearers include Freddy Reynolds, Fred Rochester, Jimmy Tillery, Tommy Tillery, Don Stowe, Austin Blackstock, Neal Chesnut, and Shane Davis.
Honorary Pallbearer will be Donnie Vaughn and Hermon Edge.
Survivors include daughters Barbara (Billy) Tillery of Sand Rock, Janet Engledow of Leesburg; grandchildren David (Belinda) Tillery, Jennifer (Neal)Chesnut, and Andreanna (Shane) Davis; great grandchildren Zac and Jenna Clifton and Will and Abby Chesnut; special nieces.
She is preceded in death by her husband Pete Bowman; daughter Teresa Bowman; sisters Bertha Elliott, Irene Glazner, Myrtle Chitwood, Kathleen Zimmerman; son-in-law Dale Engledow.
Mrs. Bowman was a native of Cherokee County, the daughter of the late Henry and Mary Benefield Stowe; and was a member of Sand Rock Methodist Church. She and her husband, Pete Bowman, were the owners of Pete’s General Merchandise in Leesburg for 40 years.
