Mrs. Ann Bannister Higgins

Mrs. Ann Bannister Higgins, age 89 of Rome passed away Tuesday May 20, 2014 at her residence.

Mrs. Higgins was born November 11, 1924, in Cherokee County, Alabama a daughter of the late Harvey Houston Bannister, and Ida Tallent Bannister. She was a member of Rock Hill Baptist Church, and was retired from General Electric after over 45 years service. Mrs. Higgins was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin E. Higgins, sisters, Velma Bannister, Sue Davison, brothers, Joe Bannister, Paul Bannister, Herbert Bannister.

Survivors include sister, Ruth Bannister LeCory, Center, Al. nieces, Paula Miller, Jo Carmon, nephews, Gary Bannister, Danny LeCory, Paul Bannister, Mark Bannister, a special friend, Virginia Brock, several great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 4:30 P.M. Sunday May 25, 2014 at Parnick Jennings, Sr.’s Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Ted Lowe, officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 3:00 P.M. until the hour of the service on Sunday at Parnick Jennings, Sr.’s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome, Ga. 30165.

Memorial may be made to The Special Olympics, or Paralyzed Veterans of America, or flowers will be accepted.

Pallbearers include the following gentlemen and are asked to meet at the funeral  home by 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, Josh Bates, Jack LeCory, Andy Lowe, Hal Miller, Billy Carmon, Chris Carmon and Danny LeCory.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Shanklin-Attaway Post Five of the American Legion, and the Ladies Axillaries of the American Legion.

Parnick Jennings, Sr.’s Good Shepherd Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
