Mrs. Clarice Higgins Shaw, 84 of Oxford, passed away May 10th at Regional Medical Center in Anniston.
Funeral Services will be at Perry Funeral Home in Centre on May 15th at 7pm. with Dr Larry Riddle and Wayne Gibbs officiating. The family will receive friends an hour and a half prior to the service. A private burial will be held at Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
She is survived by her only daughter Jane and was not only a wonderful mother but also a best friend. Other survivors are Robert Cox, and Ray and Nancy Shaw along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Shaw, Her father and mother Guy and Odellia Higgins, Sisters, Annie Ruth Young and Vada Hunt and her very precious “grand-dog” Lucy.
Mrs. Shaw grew up in Pollards Bend and resided there most of her life until she moved to Oxford to be near her daughter. She was well know as a wonderful cook and loved her dear friends at Oxford House where she enjoyed being involved in so many activites.
Mrs. Shaw was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be nephews and honorary Pallbearers will be the residents of Oxford House Apartments along with Dr. Mohammed Shubair who treated her as if she was his own mother.
