Mrs. Frankie Rose Hubbard Fricks

Mrs. Frankie Rose Hubbard Fricks, age 77, of Shannon, passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2017, at her residence.

            Mrs. Fricks was born in Rockmart, Georgia on December 12, 1939, daughter of the late Hugh Hubbard and the late Velma Christine Nix Hubbard.  She was also preceded in death by two nephews, Brandon Hubbard and Charles Crumbly.  Mrs. Fricks was a member of the Shannon United Methodist Church where she was a member of the United Methodist Women.  She was also a member of the American Legion Post #52 Ladies Auxiliary.  Mrs. Fricks retired from the Floyd County Board of Education where she was a bus driver for 18 years.  She also worked for McDonalds at the outlet mall in Calhoun where she was the manager for 10 years.

            Survivors include her husband, Fred Thomas Fricks, to whom she was married on May 10, 1958; a daughter, Sherri Davis and her husband, Barry, Shannon; a son, Fred Thomas “Tommy” Fricks, Jr., Shannon; three grandchildren, Matthew Davis and his wife, Linsey, Samantha Robinson and her husband, Jeremy, and Jeremy Fricks and his wife, Jennifer; nine great grandchildren; a sister, Glory Culberson and her husband, Troy, Cedar Bluff, AL; a brother, Joseph “Butch” Hubbard and his wife, Phyllis, Elizabeth City, NC; a special niece, Vicki Cleveland and her husband, Michael; several other nieces and nephews.

            Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at 2pm at the Shannon United Methodist Church with Dr. Ken Freshour and the Rev. Vincent Moreno officiating.  Private interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.

            The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 12:30pm until the service time.  At other hours, they will be at their respective residences.

            Pallbearers are asked to assemble at the church on Wednesday at 1:30pm and include:  Matthew Davis, Jeremy Fricks, Jeremy Robinson, Lee Barnes, Michael Cleveland, Douglas Crumbly, Trevor Hubbard and Jason Hubbard.

            Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, has charge of the funeral arrangements.
