Mrs. Grace Hackett

Mrs. Grace Hackett, 96 of Cedar Bluff passed away Wednesday October 28th at St. Vincents Hospital.

Funeral services will be 1 PM Monday November 2nd at Jehovah’s Witnesses Kingdom Hall with John Clayton and S.J. Johnson officiating. Mrs. Hackett will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow in Cherokee Memory Gardens. The body will lie in state from 3 until 8 PM Sunday at Perry Funeral Home, while the family receives friends at Mrs. Hackett old home place.

Pallbearers include Lester Pickens, Thomas Woods, Ross Clifton Jr., Rhyn Covington, Richard Moore, Harry Moore, Samuel Walker and Robert Ball.

Flowers Girls include Hazel Hobson, Shan Clifton, Jaunita Sanford, Doris Covington, Annette Mason, Carol Moore, Teresa Pickens, Sharon Covington and Joy Clayton.

Survivors include sons, Carl (Coretta) Hackett of Cedar Bluff and Lawayne (Beverly) Hackett of Birmingham; 9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews survive.

Mrs. Hackett was preceded in death by her husband Russell Hackett and son Charles Hackett.

Mrs. Hackett was a native of Piedmont, Al. and the daughter of the late Walker and Mary Boozer Alexander. Mrs. Hackett taught school in Cherokee County for 38 years and she attended Jehovah’s Witnesses Kingdom Hall.
