MRS. LOIS LEVON GODFREY, age 82 of Centre, passed away Sunday, August 11th at Gadsden Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be 6:PM Tuesday, August 13th at Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Davis officiating; burial will be at Cherokee Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 4 until 6:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers include David Sanford, Jonathan Sanford, Nicholas Sanford,

Jacob Sanford, A.J. Lockridge, Mike Richardson.

Survivors include sons, Larry (Beth) Sanford of Centre, Shane (Nikki)

Sanford of Rainbow City; daughter, Janet (Jason) Lockridge of Birmingham; brother, Terry (Brenda) Dyer of Jacksonville; sisters, Mary Jewell McPherson of Centre, Janice (Willard) Brown of Piedmont; grandchildren, Rachel, David, Jonathan, Lindsey, A.J., Nicholas, Jacob; great grandchildren, Marlee, Samuel, Beau, Sheppard, Joseph.

She was preceded in death by her first husband and father of their children, Arnold Sanford, her second husband, George “June” Godfrey and her first son, Arnie Sanford.

Mrs. Godfrey was a native of Calhoun County, the daughter of the late

Jewell O. and Mary Emma Holt Dyer, was retired from Union State Bank and was a member of Centre First United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Centre First United Methodist Church.
