Mrs. Martha Joan Day, age 73 of Centre, passed away Friday, October 9th at Cherokee Medical Center.
Funeral services will be 3:PM Monday, October 12th at Perry Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Melvyn Salter and Rev. Eddie Nation officiating; burial will follow in Cherokee Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1 until 3:PM Monday.
Pallbearers include Gary Burkhalter, Larry Paul Maddox, Benny Nicholson, John Coggin, Billy Rex Miller, Ronald Money, Neil Compton, Billy Wayne McKinney. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Lena Snead Sunday School Class and the Al Shumaker Sunday School Class.
Survivors include her husband, Harold Walden Day; son, Harold Todd Day of Centre; daughter, Tara Day (Fran) Blanchard of Leesburg; brother, Ronnie (Becky) Reed of Sumter, SC; grandchildren, Coty Blanchard and Candace Blanchard; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Christy Howell.
Mrs. Day was a native of Childersburg, the daughter of the late Ulysses Thomas and Lucille Young Reed and was a member of Centre First Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Centre First Baptist Church.
