Mrs. Mary Helen Potter Houle, age 87, of Centre, passed away Sunday October 4th at her residence.
Funeral services will be 3 P.M. Tuesday October 6th at Perry Funeral Home Chapel, with Hospice Chaplin Richard Bradford and Sloan Potter officiating; burial will be at Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1P.M. to 3 P.M. Tuesday.
Pallbearers include Garland Brock, Jimmy Cresswell, Ricky Cresswell, Eddy Cresswell, Glenn Reynolds, and Jim Sumner.
Survivors include sons Bill (Teresa) Potter of Tuscaloosa, Dennis (Kay) Potter of Trussville; daughter Sherry (Bobby) Chesnut of Centre; brothers Maurice (Frances) Sanford of Huntsville, Cecil Sanford of Decatur; sister Naomi Wilson of Pell City; grandchildren Torey and Sandra Chesnut, Mona Chesnut, Lora and Jason Johnson, Coleen and Ricky Towl, Kim and Jim Sumner, Sloan and Allison Potter, Haylyn and David Kracalik; 7 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and special pet Meri Jane, her 4 legged nurse that would let the family know when she would be having a seizure.
She is preceded in death by her husbands Bill Potter and Lenny Houle; sisterOleneCresswell.
Mrs. Houle was a native of Cherokee County, the daughter of the late C. Olen and Georgie Lillian Romans Sanford, and was a member of the Fairview United Methodist Church.
The family will accept flowers or memorials may be made to St. Jude or Fairview Cemetery Fund.
