Mrs. Ruby Baker, 92, of Rock Springs, passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at the Grandview Medical Center. She was born in Jefferson County on June 6, 1926 to William Ernest Wise and Gena Estell Smith Wise.

She was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church where she raised her children to trust in the Lord.

Mrs. Baker is preceded in death by her husband, James Willie Baker; sons, Harold and James Baker; daughter, Linda Baker Woodson; parents, William E. and Gena E. Wise; siblings, Ruth Privett, Hilary Wise, Billy Wise, John Wayne Wise, Vince Wise, Florene Kiley, Lorene Wise, William E. Wise Jr., Maybell Wise and Virginia Wise.

She is survived by her children, Willie Ruth Baker Martin Reynolds, Sherry Briggs, Sue Sandlin, Jerry Baker, Tommy Baker, Ronnie Baker and Danny Baker; sister, Jean Persall; thirty-five grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 11:00 AM from the Bethlehem Baptist Church with Bro. Ennis Stone and Bro. Greg Stone officiating.

The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Blountsville Funeral Home.

In Lieu of Flowers, the family request that donation be made to either the Rock Springs Cemetery Fund or the Bethlehem Baptist Church.
