Mrs. Ruby Wheeler, age 91 of Centre, passed away Saturday, October 20th at Cherokee Health & Rehab.
Funeral services will be 3:PM Monday, October 22rd at Perry Funeral Home Capel with Rev. Melvyn Salter and Rev. Charles Robinson officiating; burial will follow in Providence Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 until 3:PM Monday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers include Billy Sentell, Dennis Bryan, Christopher Robinson, Trae Storey, Darrell Kirkpatrick, Tim Street, Mark Flynt, Danny Haney.
Survivors include: Sons, Thomas (Jewell) Matthews of Centre, James Hugh (Catherine) McGatha of Piedmont, Jerry McGatha of Centre, Donny (Charlene) McGatha of Piedmont, P.D. (Rebecca) Wheeler Jr. of Centre; Daughters, Martha (Bill) Sentell of Centre, Diane Green of Centre, Debbie Winfrey of Piedmont, Kathy Rogers of Centre, Sandra (Tim) Scott of Centre, Helen (Kenneth) Wynn of Centre, Ceil Cooper of North Carolina; sister, Audrey (Joe) Kirkpatrick; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great – great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, P.D. Wheeler, Sr. and daughter, Barbara Joyce McGatha.
Mrs. Wheeler was a native of Cherokee County, the daughter of the late Thomas and Addie Stepps and was of the Holiness Faith.
