Ms. Nallie Mae “Aunt Nallie” Covington

Ms. Nallie Mae “Aunt Nallie” Covington, 88, of Calhoun died at GordonHospital on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 following several months of declining health. Nallie was born in Cherokee County, Alabama on July 22, 1928; she was the daughter of the late Buford and Lula Mae Dover Covington.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Covington; her sisters, Nellie Green, Ruth Ford, and Mary Lou Hilley. For more than thirty years, Nallie worked with Astro Dye. She was a member of Victory Fellowship Full Gospel Church.

Survivors are her brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Barbara Covington and Leon and Bernice Covington; her sisters and brother-in-law, Edith Kilgore Self and Ruby Jean and Lou Mckenny; twenty-five nieces and nephews;many great and great-great nieces and nephews; a host of friends.

The Covington family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home on Thursday, August 25, 2016 from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m.

The funeral service will be conducted on Friday, August 26, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.

Burial will follow the service at Chandler Cemetery. Pastor Terry Timms and Mr. Estes Pass will officiate. Music will be arranged by Nathan Stinson. Her nephews will serve as pallbearers.
