Much of Alabama Sees Record Highs on Christmas Day

It was far from a traditional Christmas Day weather wise – with record setting temperatures across much of the south, including Alabama.

  • Birmingham – 78, breaking the record of 77 set just last year.
  • Huntsville – 77, breaking the record of 73 set in 1987.
  • Mobile – 80, breaking the record of 79 set in 2015.
  • Montgomery – 82, breaking the record of 81 set in 1987.
  • Muscle Shoals – 78, breaking the record of 75 set in 1987.
  • Tuscaloosa – 80, tying the record set in 2015.

In Centre the high hit 71 on Christmas Day.

And, we will have more warm weather at least through the beginning and middle portion of the week before we see cooler, more seasonal temperatures as we head into the weekend.
