Netflix renews “Kimmy Schmidt”, “Grace and Frankie”

Eric Liebowitz/Netflix(LOS ANGELES) — Netflix has renewed its hit comedies Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and Grace and Frankie.

The first six episodes of the fourth season of Kimmy Schmidt will launch May 30, with the remaining installments to debut later this year. Unbreakable Kimmy Scmidt, created by Tina Fey and Robert Carlock, stars Ellie Kemper as the titular character, a spunky, indefatigable woman trying to reclaim her life after being rescued from a doomsday cult. Tituss Burgess, Jane Krakowski, John Hamm, and Carol Kane also star.

The acclaimed Grace and Frankie, which stars Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin, will be back for a fifth season in 2019. They play a pair of women whose husbands — played by Martin Sheen and Sam Waterston — reveal they’re gay and leaving them for each other. The streaming giant also revealed that Emmy winner RuPaul, will guest star in season five as Benjamin Le Day, described as, “a formidable and quick-witted adversary who faces off with Grace and Frankie.”
