New “Scratch n’ Sniff” Postage Stamps Coming in June (This IS NOT a Joke)

At long last – what we’ve all been waiting for:  Scratch n’ sniff postage stamps.

The U.S. Postal Service announced Monday that it will soon issue its first scratch n’ sniff stamps.  The stamps feature illustrations of what it refers to as “ice pops” – or what we here in the south call popsicles (and no we don’t want to get calls debating what the difference is because, yes, we looked it up and there IS a difference, sorta, but nobody cares) ANYWAY – the agency says the stamps will “add the sweet scent of summer” to letters.

The 20 stamps depict watercolor illustrations by California artist Margaret Berg.

Each of the 10 stamp designs includes two different treats – and the words “FOREVER”, and “USA” appear along the bottom of each stamp.

The stamps will first be issued on June 20th in Austin, Texas.

They have, once again, chosen to ignore my request that they issue Scratch n’ Sniff stamps with a deceased skunk on them (designed specifically for the payment of bills).
