A North Carolina man reeled in not one, but two $1000 tagged crappie during the Weiss Lake improvement Associations Crappie Spring Rodeo

J.D. Norton of Granite Falls, North Carolina said he was shooting docks in the Little River area Wednesday when he caught a tagged crappie. He immediately took his fish to Bill Hamlin (owner of Little River Marina) to collect his $50 but found out it was a $1000 fish.

On Thursday morning Mr. Norton went out fishing again on the same dock and caught another tagged crappie to find out it was another $1000 tagged fish.

There are 49 more $1000 tagged crappie swimming in Weiss Lake with around 900 $50 fish along with the $10,000 fish. Make sure you get your Crappie Rodeo badge before going fishing; you could be the next big winner!
