Information has now been released regarding a stabbing incident taking place last Friday in DeKalb County (November 11th).
According to Sheriff Jimmy Harris deputies and members of the Henagar PD responded to a home on County Road 1945 in Henagar following a report of the incident; investigators also responded and discovered the body of a Summerville, Georgia man identified as 29 year old Cody Earl Seegar.
Seegar was pronounced dead at the scene by the Coroner’s Office; according to witnesses at the scene, he and another man, 48 year old Anthony Tracy Shaw also of Summerville – went to the residence, apparently to confront the homeowner in regard to a family dispute which had taken place earlier in the day.
According to information contained in a News Release from Sheriff Harris, the pair attacked the homeowner, who in turn, stabbed each man once.
Shaw was transported to Erlanger Medical Center for treatment; however, Seegar died as a result of his injuries.
The investigation into the matter continues.
