Northwestern Bastketball Player Jordan Hankins Found Dead in Dorm

PHOTOS.com/Thinkstock(EVANSTON, IL) — Northwestern Wildcat Jordan Hankins, a 19-year-old player on the women’s basketball team, was found dead in her room on campus.

Hankins averaged 3.6 points in 11 games as a guard for the team. Northwestern coach Joe McKeown called the loss devestating.

“We are heartbroken and deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Jordan Hankins,” Northwestern athletic director Jim Phillips said in a statement. “Our love and thoughts are with her family, teammates and friends. Our department is solely focused on supporting those who adored her.”

The cause of her death is not known, but Evanston police said in a statement there is no evidence of foul play.
