ABC – Randy Holmes(LOS ANGELES) — Modern Family star Eric Stonestreet has signed on to host an ABC show that will show just what hard work child’s play is. The Toy Box, a partnership with Mattel Creations, will be a competition show that pits would-be toy inventors’ designs against each other — and puts them in front of the toughest judges of all: kids.
The Toy Box promises to be, “a unique, behind-the-scenes look at the hard work, determination and creativity it takes to run a globally recognized, iconic creations company like Mattel,” said Richard Dickson, the company’s president and chief operating officer, in a statement.
The show, set to premiere on ABC during the 2016-17 season, will give hopefuls a chance to bring their prized designs to life, and if they pass muster with their intended target audience, their inventions could become the next great toy.
