The number of new COVID-19 cases in Alabama continues to soar.
The Alabama Department of Public Health data released Tuesday morning showed that the state added 3,907 cases going from Monday into Tuesday; that brought the total number of cases since March 13th to 351,804. The state also added 25 deaths for a new total of 4,737. Hospitalizations jumped to 2,804 – the highest number reported since the pandemic began.
According to the ADPH vaccine tracker, 20,354 COVID-19 vaccines have been administered since the process began last week.
Meanwhile, in Cherokee County, according to the ADPH, we’ve seen a total of 1,393 cases of COVID-19 since March 13th – 951 confirmed, 442 listed as probable; countywide we’ve had a total of 23 deaths, with 19 of those confirmed and 4 being listed as probable.
