A_L_C_H/Instagram (LONDON) — One London-based fashion designer is taking items like McDonald’s bags, IKEA bags and recycled Apple products to create fashionable, wearable items.
Alexandra Hackett and her brand ALCH have created these one-of-a-kind items.
“My practice focuses on appropriating the function of preexisting textiles — often materials that are not traditionally associated with the fashion industry — into apparel and accessory design,” Hackett, 24, told ABC News. “My work explores the concept of the body as a product and clothing as a form of product packaging.”
Hackett said although she’s used many items, often considered as waste, there’s one textile that she’s dying to get her hands on: NASA space foil.
