One person was hospitalized in the wake of a two-vehicle crash occurring in Floyd County Wednesday afternoon.

According to Floyd County Police Department reports that accident took place when a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee was traveling west on the Alabama Highway, when the driver, 24 year old Kyle Trammell, swerved to miss a 2005 Ford Taurus coming out of Beech Creek Drive.

The Taurus was being driven by 89 year old Elizabeth Otts;

Trammell’s Jeep clipped the front-end of Taurus, and when he tried to correct the vehicle it overturned in the middle of the roadway.

He was taken to an area hospital to be checked out.

The cause of that accident remains under investigation.
