One of Cherokee County’s “Most Wanted” Arrested in Broomtown Community

CCSO - Wiggins, David Mac

An individual on the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Most Wanted List, was arrested Tuesday evening in the Broomtown community.

53 year old David Mac Wiggins had been placed on that list after Circuit Judge Shaunathan Bell issued a Court Order for him to be arrested for violating the conditions of his release on pending charges.

Law enforcement officials had been searching for Wiggins for several weeks. He was spotted by Sheriff Jeff Shaver and District Attorney Investigator Josh Summerford on Tuesday evening, in a pickup truck on County Road 46.

Wiggins was a passenger in the vehicle and when the driver pulled over he bailed out and fled on foot – making it only a short distance before being apprehended.

He was carried to the Cherokee County Detention Center – where he awaits a hearing with Judge Bell.

Wiggins faces pending felony charges of Receiving Stolen Property in addition to several counts of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument.
