One Of Two Men Charged With Murder Now In Cherokee County Jail

Jerimiah JacksonOne of the two suspects charged with murder in the shooting death of 39 year old Billy Ingram has been brought back to Cherokee County.

21 year old Jeremiah Jackson was booked into the Cherokee County Detention Center just before 5:00 Monday afternoon and is being held pending a bond hearing.

According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver – the second suspect in the case, 36 year old Darrell Burgess is fighting extradition and remains in the Walker County, Georgia Detention Center.

Both are charged with killing Billy Ingram during the early morning hours of Monday October 20 of this year at a residence in the Farill Community north of Cedar Bluff.

The Cherokee County Major Crimes Unit responded to the scene and began the investigation. Investigators from the multi-agency unit worked around the clock to determine the persons responsible for Ingram’s death.

Evidence led investigators to Rossville, Georgia, where Jackson and were taken into custody.
