One Person Airlifted Following Single Vehicle Accident on County Road 41 / UPDATED

A Gaylesville woman was airlifted to an area trauma center following a single-vehicle crash on County Road 41 late Wednesday afternoon.  According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency accident report, 21 year old Tabitha Folsom lost control of her 2008 Nissan around 5:30pm and was rushed from the scene of that wreck to a landing zone that had been set up at the intersection of County Roads 114 and 41, where she was flown out.

That wreck took place approximately six miles north of Cedar Bluff.

No information regarding the extent of her injuries has been available; the report indicated that she was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the accident.

Cherokee EMS, Rescue Squad personnel, Gaylesville Firefighters, Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Deputies, and Alabama State Troopers responded to the scene.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
