Cedar Bluff Police say a man injured in a four wheeler accident early Saturday morning didn’t actually call to report his injuries until later that afternoon.

The initial accident occurred at around 4:00 a.m. Saturday in a wooded area near Cornwall Furnace after the victim, who has not yet been identified took a friends four wheeler on a joy ride and then crashed into a tree.

The man then somehow found his way home and apparently thought he would ‘sleep off’ his injuries, however when awoke at around noon Saturday in excruciating pain and with noticeable injuries to his face, he called 911 requesting an ambulance.

According to reports the man was treated for serious lacerations and possible broken ribs, we’ll have more as soon as that accident report is officially released.

Cedar Bluff Police and Cherokee EMS responded to the scene.
