One Person Taken To The Hospital After A Motorcycle Hits A Deer On Highway 411 North / UPDATED

A man riding his motorcycle along Highway 411 north Tuesday afternoon struck a deer and was taken to the hospital afterwards to be treated for minor facial injuries.

69 year old Rome resident Gary Hopkins was riding his 2014 Harley Davidson along 411 at around 3:45pm, near the County Road 83 intersection, when that accident occurred.  Hopkins was up and walking around when firefighters and medics arrived on the scene and he asked to be taken to Floyd Medical Center in Rome to be further evaluated.

Members of the Spring Creek Fire Department, Floyd EMS, Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and Alabama State Troopers responded.
