It’s a big step up, and everyone at Centre City Hall is proud to have a new home at the Centre Community Center on Armory Road.

A large number of area residents stopped by to take of tour of the new facility, during their Open House event on Monday afternoon; extensive work went into redesigning the facility to accommodate the needs of those at City Hall, creating a more efficient and effective method of conducting business, for both employees and visitors.

WEIS Radio spoke with Mayor Mark Mansfield about the event:

The previous location of City Hall on West Main Street in Centre was extremely well-known – but due to some structural issues and other concerns the decision to change was made earlier in the year, and it was announced during the June 23rd (2021) City Council meeting.  The  idea of moving City Hall and the search for a suitable location actually began under the previous administration. Mayor Mansfield stressed that the move to the current location at this point, does remain a temporary measure.  

The mayor did say however, that the switch to the Centre Community Center – at 635 Armory Road, will be official until further notice.
