Out Of 15 Total Cases Of COVID-19 In Cherokee County, 7 Are Active, 8 Have Recovered

The latest numbers from the Alabama Department of Public Health show that there are 6,925 cases of COVID-19 across Alabama – there have been 27,050 tested, 262 deaths and 955 hospitalizations.

Cherokee County sill stands at 15 confirmed cases (7 active) with no reported deaths, Calhoun County currently has 93 confirmed cases and 3 deaths, DeKalb County has 77 confirmed cases and 2 deaths and Etowah County has 139 cases with 8 total deaths.

Of the 15 total cases in Cherokee County, EMA Director Shawn Rogers said that 7 of those are active. 8 are no longer in quarantine, have recovered and are no longer considered infectious.

During a news conference held at the Cherokee County Administration Center earlier in the week, Rogers said that there have been no deaths reported and more than 130 tests performed.

Statewide, there are currently 335 patients in Intensive Care and 195 on ventilators.
