Over 3,100 Cases of COVID-19 Added in Alabama Going from Tuesday into Wednesday

Alabama added more than 3,000 new COVID-19 cases going from Tuesday into Wednesday.

That Alabama Department of Public Health data released on Wednesday morning shows an increase of 3,132 over the day before, bringing the total number of cases thus far across the   the state to 429,655.  The state also added 157 deaths to bring that total to 6,283.

The ADPH said it’s conducting a review of past deaths, and numbers could reflect cases that date back weeks or even months.  There are currently 2,724 people hospitalized with COVID-19 in Alabama.

Here in Cherokee County, according to the ADPH, we’ve now seen a total of 1,619 cases of COVID-19 since March 13th of last year – 1,067 confirmed, 552 listed as probable.  Countywide we’ve had a total of 30 deaths – with 25 confirmed as being COVID-related, and 5 listed as probable.
