Howard Finster’s Paradise Gardens in Pennville in neighboring Chattooga County, has been awarded a grant from the Georgia Department of Economic Development’s Georgia Council for the Arts. Across the state, a total of 132 recipients of the Partner, Project & Arts Education Program were awarded grants for fiscal year 2019 and will share $1 million in funding.
The state legislature passed a special appropriation in the current year’s budget to award a $5,000 grant to all Partner Grant applicants which met certain criteria and were not funded in the 2018 Fiscal year budget.
That funding includes appropriations from the Georgia General Assembly and the National Endowment for the Arts.
