Pedestrian Air-Lifted for Treatment Following Hit and Run in Jacksonville on Thursday

A pedestrian was airlifted for to an area trauma center for treatment after being struck by a vehicle on Marbut Drive Southwest in Jacksonville, around 11:00am Thursday.  The victim, whose name hasn’t been released and was listed on reports only as a black female, suffered what was described as a “noticeable head injury”. 

The driver left the scene, and after interviewing a number of witnesses Jacksonville officers identified the suspect as 25 year old Anissa L. Burns, also of Anniston.

She was located and is currently being held in the Calhoun County Jail on a $15,000 bond – her court date has been set for May 23rd. 

She was arrested on a charge of First Degree Assault.
