Pedestrian Injured After Being Struck By A Vehicle On Highway 273

Emergency crews responded to the scene of an accident taking place on Highway 273 near Yellow Creek Store on Saturday night. The incident occurred just after 9:00 p.m.. It was initially believed to have been a two vehicle accident, however as units were enroute it was discovered that a pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle.

The Leesburg Police and Fire Departments, Floyd EMS units and Alabama State Troopers responded to the scene. The victim was taken to an area hospital for what was described as a possible broken femur. One individual was arrested at the scene and taken to the Cherokee County Detention Center.
