Pedestrian Stuck And Killed By Vehicle In Rome

A man struck and critically injured Saturday evening in Rome has died from his injuries.

According to Capt. Paul Greene of the Rome Police Department, the man was crossing E. 2nd Avenue toward a convenience store on the east side of the roadway at E. 4th Street.

The man was not using a crosswalk and was able to cross the southbound lanes. However, when crossing the northbound lanes he was hit by a Ford F-150.

Capt. Greene said the man was taken from the scene by EMS to Floyd Hospital where he died of his injuries.
