The Piedmont City Council, on Tuesday, voted to grant the request of local resident Kim Dobbs, to conduct two roadblocks as a fundraiser for her friend, Kayla Martin, who suffers from COPD and is currently awaiting a heart and lung transplant. The roadblocks are scheduled for April 23rd and June 4th, from 9am to 3pm each day.
In other business, the council agreed to purchase a new tractor for the street department, accepting the low bid of $22,051.50.
Bills for payment were approved in the amount of $440,157.69 in addition to a payroll amount of $106,844.72 for a total of $547,002.41.
Also, the council agreed to table votes on a school board appointment and the Charter Franchise Agreement.
The next regular Piedmont City Council meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 3rd, at 6 pm.
