It was a relatively brief meeting of the Piedmont City Council on Tuesday, which saw a few routine agenda items being approved by city officials.
An alleyway located near the corner of Ladiga Street and Main Street will soon be known as “Trail Park Drive.” Officials said the designation was necessary to allow the alley to be resurfaced by the county at no cost to the city.
While discussing street paving, Mayor Bill Baker informed the council that about 28,000 lbs of plant mix has arrived, so residents can soon look forward to a smoother ride.
Bills for payment were approved in the amount of $574,911.23.
The council also approved a property abatement resolution, authorizing the cleanup of a Haslam Street property.
The next regular Piedmont City Council Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, January 21st, immediately following the work session, which is set for 5:30pm.
