Piedmont City Schools announced Friday that it will require masks be worn by all staff and students while indoors during the school day, beginning Wednesday, September 8.
The school district said the change was made due to an increase over the past two weeks in students quarantining due to potential COVID-19 exposure.
The school district said that although quarantining is high, the number of actual positive COVID-19 cases remains low.
