Piedmont Man Arrested Following Brief Pursuit by Deputies in Spring Garden Area

A Piedmont man is in custody after fleeing from Deputies in the Spring Garden area Thursday. 

Sheriff Jeff Shaver stated that Deputy Daniel Money attempted to stop a vehicle on County Road 33, when and the vehicle fled.  After a brief pursuit, the vehicle crashed on County Road 175 and the driver, James Michael Goss, age 44, was found to be in possession of illegal drugs and was arrested at the scene.

He was transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center – where he was charged with Attempting to Elude, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Tampering with Physical Evidence.
