Piedmont Man Arrested For Impersonating A Peace Officer

A Piedmont man has been arrested on a warrant for Impersonating a Peace Officer, according to Piedmont Police Chief Freddie Norton his officers arrested 20 year old William Peyton McEachern of Piedmont on a warrant through his department.

In the early morning hours of Thursday, McEachern approached an employee of a local business telling this employee that he was a “Task Force Agent” and wanted to know why the employee was at the business so early in the morning.

McEachern told the employee he was a “Police Officer” again before driving away. The employee was able to write down the tag number of the vehicle as he drove away.

The employee was able to ID McEachern as the offender. McEachern is being held on a $25,000 bond with a preliminary court date of October 24, 2016. Additional charges are pending on McEachern.
