Piedmont Man Arrested Locally on Drug Charges / UPDATED

A Piedmont man is behind bars after Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Investigators issued a search warrant Sunday morning at a residence on County Road 19 near Ball Play.  As a result of the search, law enforcement seized methamphetamine, heroin, marijuana and other controlled substances.

The homeowner, 51 year old Gregory Lamar McCurdy was placed under arrest and charged with three counts of the Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and one count each of the Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree and the Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

He was booked into jail just after 11:30am and Monday morning remained in the Cherokee County Detention Center with bond set at $8,500.
