Pair Facing Drug Charges After Attempting to Elude Law Enforcment / UPDATED

Two Piedmont residents were arrested over the weekend following an attempt to elude Cherokee County Law enforcement officials.

Sheriff Jeff Shaver says a report was received shortly before 11:30 Saturday night, concerning a vehicle with no headlights in the Spring Garden area.

Deputies located and stopped the vehicle after a short pursuit.

CCSO - Shell x2The driver, identified as 43 year Tracy Brent Shell, and a passenger, 41 year old Julia Mae Burns – were taken into custody and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, the Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Resisting Arrest and with Attempting to Elude Law Enforcement Officials.

CCSO - BurnsBoth Shell and Burns remain lodged in the Cherokee County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
