According to Alabama State Troopers, injuries from a weekend wreck, have proven fatal for a Piedmont man. That two-vehicle crash took place Saturday on Alabama 68 in Sand Rock – with James Lawrence Calvert, age 46, being taken to UAB Hospital, where he died on Tuesday.
Calvert was a passenger in one of the vehicles; both drivers were taken to area hospitals for treatment following the crash.
The accident remains under investigation by state troopers and by the Cherokee County Coroner’s Office and Coroner Jeremy Deaton
